This is me on a mission trip to the Dominican Republic in 2017. This captures the love aspect of anesthesia. Even though she was asleep, I was still soothing her with a hand to the cheek. The appreciation relayed to us by patients and family alike made all the work worth it. That was one of the forts few times I practiced independently. It left me hungry for more. I am now an independent CRNA.
