  • The Vaccine Mandate Battle for Healthcare Workers

Vaccination policies are nothing new to frontline healthcare providers. What’s different this time is that some caregivers are challenging requirements that they be vaccinated against Covid-19. A few are even taking their employer to court.

Last week, at Houston Methodist, more than 150 employees either resigned or were fired after refusing to comply with the institution’s Covid-19 vaccination mandate.

A week earlier, a federal judge had dismissed a lawsuit by 117 Houston Methodist workers who had argued that the mandate forced staffers to serve as “guinea pigs” for vaccines that had not gone through the full FDA approval process. Houston Methodist was one of the nation’s first health systems to impose a coronavirus vaccine policy.

What do you think of these policies? Take our poll.
