  • Nurses on Board Coalition Achieves Goal of 10,000 Board Seats Filled by Nurses

    In their recent article, Achieving 10,000 Board Seats Filled by Nurses: Nurses Improve Health Across Communities, published in Nursing Economic$, Pamela Rudisill and Laurie Benson highlight the historic milestone of the Nurses on Board Coalition (NOBC) in ensuring 10,000 board seats are filled by nurses. NOBC’s mission is to improve the health of communities and the nation through the service of nurses on boards and other bodies. NOBC is committed to increasing nurses’ presence and influence on corporate, health-related, and other boards, panels, and commissions.

    Building upon this momentum, the NOBC will continue to focus on its strategy to health nurse leaders prepare for and pursue board opportunities, promote collaboration among state and national organizations, and demonstrate the impact of nurses serving on boards.

    AANA is represented on NOBC by Jana Bailey, APRN, CRNA who serves on numerous committees within NOBC, including the membership committee and communication workgroup.
